just checked with 0.1.71, same thing happens

no, no, no. the treo *wants* serial protocol. gpilotd set to USB does net 
sync, which is fine for Palm usb but the treo usb port is just the serial
port  converted. in fact,  you say "synch on usb or serial" and the thing
figures out which is connected.

with 0.1.71 if i setup gpilotd for /dev/ttyUSB1 and USB i get:

this is with pilot-link-0.11.7

however, if I change gpilotd.c:134 to PI_PF_PADP it JustWorks.

So i figure Treos (180, 270 at least) need a "Serial USB" option.
