Nothing doing.
[jack felix jack]$ ls -l /dev/usb/tts/
total 0
crw------- 1 jack root 188, 0 Dec 31 1969 0
crw------- 1 jack root 188, 1 Dec 31 1969 1
[jack felix jack]$ gpilotd
gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 0.1.65 starting...
gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.11.3
gpilotd-Message: compiled with [GOAD] [USB] [IrDA] [Network]
gpilotd-Message: Activating CORBA server
gpilotd-Message: Watching Cradle (/dev/usb/tts/0)
gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200
gpilotd-WARNING **: Unable to bind to pilot
I get some warnings in the log, but these all appear to be normal from
reading on the web:
Sep 4 09:09:24 felix kernel: visor.c: visor_startup - error getting
first unknown palm command
Sep 4 09:09:24 felix kernel: visor.c: visor_startup - error getting
second unknown palm command
Sep 4 09:09:24 felix kernel: usbserial.c: Sony Clié 4.0 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Sep 4 09:09:24 felix kernel: usbserial.c: Sony Clié 4.0 converter now
attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
Sep 4 09:09:25 felix /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup visor for USB
product 54c/66/100
Sep 4 09:09:25 felix /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: missing kernel or user
mode driver visor
I assume that tweaking the contents of /etc/sysconfig/usb might quiet
down the hotplug agent, but I also assume that these errors don't impact
anything since pilot-xfer works.
