news on this problem (was: Re: gnome-pilot 0.1.65: error though fixing configure)

hy everybody,

thanks to jack coates recent posting i have gotten a bit further with my
problem (compiling gnome-pilot 0.1.65 only displayed "pilot-link: .." at
the summary):

this time i have tried to compile gnome-pilot with following command:
"./configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-usb --with-pisock=/usr/local"

(last time it was only: "./configure --prefix=/usr/local")

it compiled and ... finished _with_ a "pilot-link: 0.11.3" *taraa* ;)
ok, next i run "make" but there i got an error:

"
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libORBit.la'
make[2]: *** [gpilotd] Fehler 1
make[2]: Verlassen des Verzeichnisses Verzeichnis
»/root/gnome-pilot-0.1.65/gpilotd«
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Fehler 1
make[1]: Verlassen des Verzeichnisses Verzeichnis
»/root/gnome-pilot-0.1.65«
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Fehler 2
"

i did not find this "libORBit.la" anywhere on my hdd (though /usr/lib
containes many libORBit* files). i have installed ...

ORBit2 (version 2.4.2.0.200208191806 via redcarpet)
ORBit2-devel (same version as above)
ORBit (version 0.5.13 [i don't quite recall but probably] via redhat cd)
ORBit-devel (same version as above)

i looked up the provided files of these packages (via gnorpm) but did
not find this libORBit.la (the "nearest hit" it got was libORBit.a in
the ORBit-devel package).

any hint on how i might this gnome-pilot get to work?

tobias
