Paul,
thanks for the reply and the info ... but I've found a way to do this
without downloading a new control center. It seems that the only thing
missing is an applet.
so ... after some tiem looking through the Gnome User Board archives, I
found this ...
simply run the following from and Xterm - as User:
"gpilotd-control-applet --cap-id=1"
that last part "--cap-id=1" is apparently the golden egg here. that
calls up the conduit setup.
... this will bring up a conduit setup box where you can select which
conduits you want to turn on. Be sure to run gnome-pilot and do your
initial synch first.
... This works. It took me about 2 minutes to set mine up and do a full
synch.
... then, when you want to hot-synch, launch the pilot tool from the
control panel and then hit your hot-synch button. the only time you'll
need to come back to the conduit setup box is if you ever what to change
your conduits.
Just in case, I created an alias in bashrc.
(alias conduit='gpilotd-control-applet --cap-id=1'
