gnome-pilot not really working

Hello!
I've installed gnome-pilot-0.1.53 and gnome-pim-1.2.0. In gnomecc I enabled
the conduits GnomeCal and GnomeCard. Then I sync my German Pilot IIIx with
OS 3.3, the GnomeCal window pops up and stays open. After some time the
pilot tells me, that the sync process has not been successful. When I try
to sync again, the Pilot doesn't get a connection.
What's wrong, and how can I fix it?
