2.  I had done a sync prior to the upgrade, so you all maybe right on that
playing a key part in my problem.

3.  I did delete the dir and start all over from nothing.  I have been
working on some other things (I wish I had some formal training in linux
but I'm a trail and error guy) so I have had to re-install my box a few
times but now I don't think I will have to any more.

4.  Currently I do not have a problem with it, but if I do in the future, I
will let you all know.
