Zipios++ is a java.util.zip-like C++ library for reading and writing Zip
files. Access to individual entries is provided through standard C++
iostreams. A simple read-only virtual file system that mounts regular
directories and zip files is also provided

you can just about use Dia for Vector graphics Cross Platform (XP), Dia is
a great tool for drawing UML diagrams but it was never designed for
drawing pretty pictures with lots of colors
(which reminds me i never finished my South Park and other fun drawings...)

I really really like Cross platform software, and i really like to be able
to say that i can run the same great software on both.

I would suggest that Ease of migration is the best part of cross platform
software and the Linux/Unix versions are always as good as or better.
