Actually, other threads are discussing everything from bonoboizing
GnuCash to how Gnumeric compares to Excel.

But yes, there is a significant quantity of discussion about political
issues. This list isn't currently a technical one, so the issues
discussed here are most likely to relate to organizing developers, and
dealing with different projects. These are topics that quickly turn
to politics in many situations.

Additionally, most free software projects spend at least some of their
time in political discussions. If you think this is bad, I can only
reccomened examing the archives of debian-vote, for example. If Sun
(and you) want to be a part of the community, then you have to deal
with our issues.

Finally, the only person who brought up the issue of license is
Mathieu. I don't have a problem with the SISSL, or with dual
licensing in general. Others have only refered to the issue of
copyright assignment, something thta is important and on which Sun has
taken a controversial position for many in the community. The fact
that people persist in insisting that it is not controversial hinders
the discussion here.

I don't think so, but it will lose much of its point if we have no
representatives from the OpenOffice community on it. So I hope that
even if you do decide to leave, that someone else from the OpenOffice
community will be willing to continue discussing these issues here.
There is little that can be accomplished if there is no dialogue.
