Sense (en anderen),

Hier heb ik zo mijn twijfels bij. Ik spreek zelf geen Fries, maar kan
als Nederlandstalige lezer natuurlijk wel een beetje Fries lezen [1].
Zaken als woordvolgorde en werkwoordsverbuigingen zijn in het Fries veel
gelijkender op Nederlands dan op Engels.

De conventies die wij gebruiken voor de Nederlandse Gnome-vertaling
lijken mij zeer wel toepasbaar op de Friese vertaling. Zoals ik al
eerder aangaf, betreft dit bijvoorbeeld het gebruik van de infinitief in
plaats van de gebiedende wijs ("Opslaan", niet "Sla op") in praktisch
alle interface-strings. Daarnaast is voor veel specifieke termen in de
Nederlandse vertaling de Friese equivalent te gebruiken. Denk hierbij
bijvoorbeeld aan "(aan)koppelen" voor "mount", "toepassingen" voor
"applications" (niet "applicaties" dus), etc.
