OK, these should probably be global, yes.

Well, that should not be a global setting I think, since it's something
you change regularly. Interesting though, adding it to the list of stuff
I'd like to have in mm :)

That is per-app, IMHO.

Yeah, well. We have the gstreamer default audiosink setting .. since
totem is the only app using xine (and hopefully not for long) this
should stay local as well, imho.

Well, I hope you agree we shouldn't have 4 different cd players ;)
At least I think we should not include *both* gst-player and totem as
"core players".
