I have vsound. According to the docs, you need to kill esd in order
to run vsound with realplay. If I kill esd, I have no problem playing
realplayer files.
Other than this, vsound allows one to capture audio, thus allowing
one to convert rm files to wav. While this is useful, it means that to
play a .rm file, I need to convert it to .wav with vsound/realplay and
then play the .wav file.
Unfortunately, this doesn't allow realplay to work with esd, and doesn't
allow one to play streams with esd.
