Hi Duff,

It seems that you're trying to compile with jhbuild after launch 
./autogen outside of the jhbuild environment.

I recommend you that launch a global bootstrap, "jhbuild bootstrap 
--ignore-system" and try to compile again expat with "jhbuild buildone 
-a expat"
