Re: [gnome-love] french-canadian keymaps

Well if you look inside this bug report
(http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15040), you'll see that I
posted a patch that make everything works, gnome included. The problem
was not in gnome, gnome does just read xorg configuration files.

I think this bug (http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15040) is
the real problem.

Hi, since a long time I have some problems with my french-canadian
keyboard. (Check http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15303 for
depper explanation of the problem) The keymaps from gnome of the
french-canadians keyboards have always been wrong, but there was a way
to bypass this and get it working with xorg. Now, for some reasons that
I don't understand, this doesn't work anymore. So I tough to fix the
problem to the source : getting a good keymap for the french-canadians
keyboards on gnome. This is really a huge problem since this stop about
every french-canadian user to use gnome because their keyboard doesn't
work properly.

So I was wondering if anyone could give me some documentation on how I
could make a new keymap for a keyboard. Or if any skilled person wants
to do it, let's go! I just want this to be fixed.

Yes you're right but what I want is to fix the probolem in the gnome
keyboard thing, not for xorg, since xorg is just some sort of work
around due to the missing keymap in gnome.
