This is a plea to ask for like-minded newbies like me to help fill out
the book. Tell me what you think. Is it just wasted effort?

Definitely not. I think a wiki-like page can be cool and useful.
I've seen a number of requests for that. There are benefits to do
this that couldn't be had in a guide like mine. It's just not my cup
of tea.

The reason
I'm not just helping Elijah instead of duplicating his effort is
because he requires me to get GNU Arch.

Is that the only reason? If so, I can provide a tarball and you can
just make patches against it. Of course, you may find that you like a
wiki-like system in preference to what I have or may have other small
reasons for maintaining a separate project (e.g. my current laziness
and lack of updating the guide for a couple months + lack of ability
to get Chris to write the gnome-vfs section like he said he would
*cough*). I think it's perfectly reasonable to have more than one
guide or tutorial. Your call.

Try it at:

Looks like a good start. :-)

Cheers,
Elijah
