Cool, thanks, installing all this now.  I think i found a little typo in
the README:

   If you sourced gnome-head or gnome-test in step #2, you will need to
type
   as root :
           mkdir /gnome
           chmod user.user /gnome

this is support to be chown not chmod i suppose...

yes, just get the vicious-build-scripts from GNOME CVS, and read the
README file. It explains what to do for setting up a GNOME 2 environment
in /gnome/head (or similar) without affecting your current GNOME.
