If you have lots of users, you will have users who have problems or
don't like something. That is just built-in.

Is this really true? I don't think so. There are lots of things I can
adjust with GNOME Tweak Tool. And most of that is driven by themes; so
changing your theme lets you change lots of things. In the a11y menu I
can adjust for high contrast, large font size, etc...

If it is a "kernel" issue it isn't a GNOME problem. An app being broken
by a kernel version is certainly odd, and probably a problem with the
application. And I've run Xiphos under GNOME3 on openSUSE 11.4 - it
worked then at least.

If you run it from gnome-terminal do you see an error message /
back-trace when it fails.

That isn't a GNOME problem.

The Internet has a *powerful* negative bias; so be careful how much you
read into it. Happy people don't post, unhappy people do (because
they have a motivation to do so). Just as people don't BLOG as much
about stuff that just-works, but about problems them have or fix. If
you perceive the world solely through the Internet you doom yourself to
pessimism and negativity.

There are many many happy GNOME3 users. They are just busy using their
apps in GNOME3 and not posting about how happy they are.
