Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me? I am new to Ubuntu/Gnome and I'm
struggling to do something that I suspect is very simple.
My standard distribution of Ubuntu has Gnome included and the desktop
appears as attached.
However, I would prefer a much cleaner desktop, more akin to Mac OS X. I
have seen desktops that look like the attached (Gnome-Desktop) but cant
find a way to create that look.
Please can someone help?
You'd probably get faster and more helpful responses on one of the
Ubuntu mailing lists (or forums, if they have.) I've only played with
Ubuntu briefly in a VM, and it doesn't look anything like the snapshots
you attached. Gnome is infinitely tweakable, so you could adjust what
you have. But I'm guessing there is an easier way to get a completely
different (and in your case, less cluttered) desktop, probably by
selecting a different theme.
