Making drawer items more "menu"-like

I have a "drawer" I've added to my top-most panel, for the various VMWare
virtual machines I use for testing. Problem is, every item I add to the drawer
is allowed an icon, but I can't get a text-label like what you get with a menu.
I'd like to have each item have a label, so I don't have to hover over each
item one-at-a-time to remember which one is Fedora Core 8, and which one is
Windows XP... is this do-able?
