Now I install fedora 4 to my machine. Can you please tell me how can I install gnome 2.12 on top of fedora 4? I think fedora 4 only comes with 2.10.

Yes, I did try the live cd demo. But I want to use gnome 2.12 for real. how can I do that?

I would hardly suggest to someone who is trying to upgrade gnome to
change distros.  There is a level of expertise expected in making such a
change.  Depending on how old a release of Red Hat it is, there are
various solutions.  Maybe Samuel can tell us what release of Red Hat
he's on.  If it's too old, it's not an easy thing to upgrade just Gnome.
