Hi!
I'm experiencing the same issue. I'm using Mandrake 10 with Gnome 2.4.
The application menu is *much* slower than on windows XP or KDE on the
same machine (a DELL 1.2 GHz laptop)
Also the "run" command (Alt-F2) always takes much longer in Gnome than
in KDE. In KDE it pops up "instantly" whenever I press Alt-F2, but in
gnome in can take several seconds depending on when I did it last...
