Desktop Trash Icon

I am a new user of Ximian Gnome on my SuSE 9.0 desktop. When I brought
the computer up this morning I discovered htat the desktop Trash
containg had lost its icon, the icon is now a page with the left top
corner turne over. Trash Properties has only a basic tab with no
provision for changing the icon.
How do I restore the Trash desktop icon?
