Are there any platform differences between GNOME implementations?

I've been asked to investigate the differences between GNOME/Linux and
GNOME/SPARC Solaris.

Now, certainly I understand that GNOME/Solaris (as shipped by Sun) is
version 2.0, while Linux distributions probably are more current.
And I've found the gnome.org release descriptions of each version of
GNOME.

And of course, I know that Solaris non-GNOME commands may differ in
behavior, flags, etc.

However, other than these issues, are there other differences -
particularly GNOME specific - that an end-user would notice if moving
between a GNOME/Solaris and GNOME/Linux setup?

What about differences from a system coordinator's point of view -
have the gconf schemas, etc. changed?

Sorry this is so vague - I'm still reading the GNOME 2.0 docs from
Sun and trying to figure things out.
