metacity: start a program on a given workspace

hi,

is there a way to start a program on a given workspace?

because sometimes i switch to an empty workspace, hit alt-f2, 
start a program, but because it takes a long time to start, 
i switch to a different workspace and do something...

but then the app starts in the current workspace, and i 
have to move it.
