Mandrake 8.2 Battery monitor

After installing Mandrake 8.2 w/ gnome it put the
battery charge monitor on my panel, but looks all
broken.  You can see it here:

What I really wanted was to use the gnome
battstat_applet but I have failed dependencies:
 error: failed dependencies:
   libdb3.so.3    is needed by
battstat_applet-2.0.12-1
   libwrap.so.o   is needed by
battstat_applet-2.0.12-1
