Re: Unable to build Gnome apps with Ximian Gnome and Debian2.2r3

Anyone, please help... I just need to know how to install the devel
packages for Debian. I don't seem to be able to find them. As far
as I can tell, there are devel packages for Red Hat, but not
Debian.

Is this correct, or did I overlook something?

Why are there Ximian devel rpm packages for Red Hat but not
devel deb packages for Debian?

If someone could give me an apt-source, that would be great. I
guess I could install RPM, but it seems silly that Ximian went to
the trouble of making deb packages for the apps but not the
development files. I was happy I could use dselect instead of
Red Carpet, since I have a lot of Debian boxen and
dselect/dpkg/apt provides a standard remote interface to
maintain packages on all the systems.

I have three machines I admin and one machine I provide tech
support for with Ximian Gnome on them, currently.

Is there any way I can purchase a small support contract(
one-time issue or five days long or something)from Ximian, w/o
buying the CDs? After all, I don't need the CDs and this is
really the only show-stopper I seem to be having with this stuff.
It is all pretty clean and very beautiful.

Btw, Jeffrey:
Thanks for all your prompt replies.

TIA,
James
