cut and paste from tk apps to gnome-terminal

Hello,

I upgraded my linux box to roswell (redhat 7.1.94). Since then I've 
been unable to select text in any tk app (e.g. exmh) and paste it into 
gnome-terminal. I can paste into other gnome apps (e.g nautilus, 
address-book), so I think it is a specific gnome-terminal problem. 

I've tried downgrading the rpm to that which comes with redhat 7.1, and 
upgrading to the one which comes with rawhide, but this makes no difference.

The versions I've tried are:

gnome-core-1.2.4-16.i386.rpm (redhat 7.1)
gnome-core-1.4.0.4-28.i386.rpm (roswell)
gnome-core-1.4.0.4-34.i386.rpm (roswell updates)
gnome-core-1.4.0.4-39.i386.rpm (rawhide)

Does anyone have any suggestions for anything I could try to fix this? If I 
try the ximian rpm will this break something else?
