bonobo-conf problem

I am trying to get bonobo-conf-0.14 compiles and get this:

./.libs/libbonobo_conf.so: undefined reference to `g_critical'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

and the compile fails.

Does anyone know what is causing this?
