gnome-db, CORBA problems

Hi all,

I try to connect via gnomedb-fe to a local mysql database. When I
go to the manager and use 

GDA:	  MYSQL_gmail
Provider: OAFIID:GNOME_GDA_Provider_MySQL_ConnectionFactory
DSN:	gmail_klaus
Description:   gmail
User:		klaus
Config: ??? (what is it good for?)

and then do test, the return is successful, but when I use connect,
I get failures like:

IDL:CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0: An Error occured in the CORBA system.
[CORBA System Exception]

On the command line I found the output:
$ gnomedb-fe

Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_signal_disconnect_by_data(): could not find
handler containing data (0x80BF080)

Bonobo-WARNING **: Exception on unrealize 'Unknown CORBA exception

When I run the gda-prgrams from the command line I get the
following about:

Any Ideas to get gnome-db running. It is an gnome-1.4 system on
