Yes, it worked, thanks. The problem remains though. 

One hint that just *MIGHT* be helpful: I have two mozillas: a milestone
(e.g. 0.8.1) and a nightly snapshot in /usr/local/mozilla. The snapshot is
run by invoking:

cd /usr/local/mozilla ; ./run-mozilla.sh

This also does not work without checking the "run in terminal" box.
