GNOME (or sawfish) is forgetful.

GNOME (or sawfish) forgets which desktop my Gnome-terminals are on
when I logout, and puts them all on the first desktop.
As far as I can see, from .sawfish/sessions/*
the incorrect viewport is recorded -- (viewport 0. 0) in both cases.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Also, the position on the desktop is somewhat inaccurate.
Is there any simple way to correct this?

I am running the GNOME that came with RedHat-7.1 .
