This looks like your system tries to get the font via xfs, the X font
server, and fails. Be sure that it gets properly started _before_ X
starts. If you run Red Hat Linux, this would be done with:
service xfs start # Start XFS
chkconfig --level 5 xfs on # Be sure that it gets started after next
# boot
If you have another distribution, this should be done in a likewise
fashion. If in doubt, consult the shipped documentation.
