file manager won't go away

Hi, I'm running GNOME with Window Maker on
Slackware 7.1. 

For some reason (after a few rounds of
customizations) the file manager keeps
popping up (twice) when I logon and won't 
go away. How do I tell GNOME that I don't
want to start the file manager?
