compiling gnome 1.4 beta

Hello,

I'm trying to install gnome 1.4 beta 1 on my system, but I get this
error message compiling gnome-libs :

gnome-metadata.c:302: too few arguments to function

The same error occurs at lines 329, 350, 357, 389, 416, 433, 450, 482
and 515.

Are there any suggestions to solve this problem ?
