changing text size globally for command line windows

hello,

I am a new user of Gnome and LINUX 7.0 . I am mildly visually impaired
and wanted to know what  file and where i need to edit it to get 14
point text in command line windows... I can change one window but when a
child window opens it is back to 8 point.  I would appreciate any help
and input
