Allowing client applicatiosn to control window placement.

I have a legacy non-Gnome aware X application (It currently runs under HP's Vue
using Motif).

I want to deploy Gnome on some new workstations that will display this app.

For this app to work properly, it MUST be able to control the placement of its
windows (many of which don't even get borders). Can I make this work with Gnome? If
som how?

I can use almost any window maanger, although it would help if it's already beeen
compiled under HP-UX.

The app will wind up displaying on HP-UX, FreebSD, and linux machines.
