Viewports do not work the same as workspaces.  I tried this and it did
work but then I lost some of the workspace functionality.  Using
viewports is not the answer.  Draging windows between workspaces is the
answer but it doesn't work.  For example it's nice to set an app to open
on a different workspace but not change to that workspace automatically
on open.  With workspaces it works great, with viewports Sawfish always
goes to that viewport when the window opens, completely defeating the
feature.
