Well, mabey not, but now that I have your attention, could someone be
kind enough to answer this question or direct me to the appropriate list
(however I would imagine the gnome-list to be appropriate for a
response).

How to you get mime types to function in gnome when your not root?

My problem is when I click say a jpeg on desktop or in gmc as root, it
uses ee and displays the image (pretty simple). But as ANY other user,
no mime type actions work, not even when explicitly using "open with".

if this is not the proper list for questions about gnome of this nature,
again, please direct me to the correct list.
