Problem with Gnome terminal

Hello all,

When i try to launch Gnome terminal from enlightnment menus i get this messages :

"There has been a mistake in the log in process. If you are using Linux 2.2.x with
glibc 2.1 this is probably due to a bad configuration of Unix ptys98."

Please note this is an approximate translation.

I am using RH5.2 with E16.

Could anyone tell me how i could resolve this ?
