I'm not a Debian user, but someone mentioned to me that the
capitalised version used to work but to be a symlink to a 
non-capitalised version. Hence the guess.

I suppose you could stuff this all into your .Xclients file instead
of .Xsession if it still doesn't work? I never worked them all
out: I have old and unread .Xthis and .xthat files all over the
place:)
