gnome--? (glade-- problems)

C++ code generated using glade-- will sometimes try to include files
from directory gnomeui. For instance, the line

#include <gnomeui/pixmapmenuitem.h>

will occur from time to time. This directory does not exist on my
system. What is missing? - I have seen some references to something
called "gnome--", but I can't find a lot of information about it. I
think have been able to locate the file indicated below using the GNOME
cross reference, under

http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gtk--/gnome--/pixmapmenuitem.gen_h#25

but that's about it.

Can anyone explain a bit more about gnome-- and/or "gnomeui" C++
headers?
