Hi Jonah,
I have been unable to find any FAQ on Multiheaded gnome at all!
I asked this very question a few weeks ago, and here are the
responses I received.
My remaining issue is not being able to use the panel on both
heads.
Good luck!

This is one of the main reasons I've stuck with Enlightenment as my WM on
Solaris. It understands and correctly handles multiple heads no problem.
Raster and Mandrake both have mutliple heads on their Linux boxes too, now.
The best I can get with Gnome is have identical panels on each screen. But
since I upgraded to Gnome 1.2, it's done something wierd to Imlib, so that
Enlightenment window frames get corrupted. So now I don't even use the panels -
I just use E's menu to access Gnome applications as and when.
Your other option, if your 2 heads are of similar quality, is to upgrade your
Solaris to a late 7 or 8, and use Xinerama to make both screens one desktop.
Then you've solved all of this.
But if you have one 24-bit and one 8-bit, you end up with one large 8-bit
desktop, which is why I still don't use it (I have 2 PGX-8s and an Elite3D) =O{
For further help with Xinerama and X setup on Solaris, go to
http://access1.sun.com and do some searches on the free FAQs offered there.
Good luck,

Mark,
As regards the corrupted window frame, it seems to be Xserver related - I've
only been able to fix this by upgrading my Xserver to the version that comes
with S8 Update 3, so it looks like something was patched.
Hope this helps,
Darren.

Really? I could only get it to happen with Gnome 1.2, so assumed it was that...
I'm running Solaris 9_17 right now - any idea when this new Xsun version will
get into the s9 builds?
Ta,
mark.
