RE: 2nd request

If I recall well, "vt07" in gdm.conf was, indeed, not necessary when
booting into runlevel 2 -> log in as root -> then either launch gdm or go
'init 3'. However, without it I could never type anything in gdm text field
when booting into runlevel 3.
