This is a little harsh. There *are* administrative tasks that are
easier done in a graphical environment you know, and as far as I
know, "su" only works for its particular terminal window. The
warning is a nuisance, but I agree with previous posters, without
the warning, it would be to easy to forget that you should log in as
a user unless you're doing system administration & maintenance.

gnome is for *UNIX* system, not for win* system.
Under unix you mustn't log in as root but under a user name.
If you need to do some tasks as root user you have to launch
a 'su -'
