Gnome-terminal question.

Greetings,

I'm using the gnome-terminal program, version 1.0.55, and suddenly it
seems to do something interesting: whenever I try to cat a long file (my
favorite is /usr/include/linux/capability.h ;), it suddenly stops, and
continues printing when a key is pressed.

I am using gnome-terminal with the screen program, version 3.09.05, and
indeed this only seems to happen when screen is running on that
terminal! Would anyone happen to know what might be amiss?

I am, by the way, using the unstable ("woody") version of Debian
GNU/Linux, and am using the standard gnome-terminal and screen packages
that come with it.

I've attached the configuration files for both programs here.

Thanks for any help you may offer...

Regards,

Alex.
