I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say here.  But there
should be no reason to click on anything during startup. Try deleting the
.gnome directory in your home directory and restart GNOME.

Personally I hate that panel at the top, my suggestion is to right-click on
it and choose to remove it.
I like the horizontal corner panels  instead. Take a look at this
screenshoot I posted on themes.org to see what I mean:

As for general help there are continually new stuff being put in by the
documentation team so if there is n't any now there probably will be
something soon.  As for the multiplesessions, no that isn't possible, but
post a wishlist bug through the gnome bug system. http://bugs.gnome.org/

well, deleting the .gnome directory should nullify most configuration
things, but I am once again not sure what excatly you mean here.
