Hi,
I to am completely new to linux. but I seem to have fixed this problem.
as root, I did as follow:
1. I issued the command "hostname 'hostname'"
2. then I changed the /etc/hosts-file to look like this:
"127.0.0.1 localhost 'hostname'
3. I changed the hostname in linuxconf-basic host information to "hostname"
4. reboot!..
this did the jobb for me. I don't know if it works for you. but I thought I'd
let you know.
