Recently downloaded RH6.1 and opted to run GNOME after boot up. As root
I can login and get a session going. But as myself, it tries and gives
me a new login prompt. The messages file in /var/log has the following
relevant lines.

Oct 19 13:35:39 bakirkoy kernel: Unable to load interpreter
Oct 19 13:36:06 bakirkoy gdm[7047]: (gdm) session closed for user mahesh
What interpreter is the kernel looking for and why is it unable to load
it?
