GTK themes are broken it seems

Hi

I installed GTK-engines-0.7-1 from the Rawhide set cause
it has some choice themes in it onto my RH 6.0 system
and picked some themes that in general work but I can't 
see the themes in gnome conf now and bits are missing
in the themes like the shinny metel is flat dark grey.

What di I screw up?, do I need to uninstall it and put the old
one back?
