Gnome screensaver capplet

It's only a minor point, but when I configure my screensaver with the
screensaver capplet in the Gnome Control Center, there is no screen saver demo
running in the small preview window; nor can I see a preview when I press the
appropriate button in Settings. But apart from that, the screensavers work fine.

Does anyone know how to solve this?
