Here's a couple more:
1) I noticed that somehow the CDROM link on my desktop (link to /cdrom) would automatically
mount the CDROM before opening mc window. I relinked it to /mnt/cdrom and it stopped
automounting the cdrom (changed fstab, entry in the drivemount applet on panel too). How to
make it auto-mount? How to make the floppy have the same behavior? if works, how to make it
stop giving error on mount cdrom "error: mounting device read-only?" The mount/umount/eject
options also appeared in right-click menu on icon, how to get this back too?
2) I added swallowed app to left panel. It was asapm (Afstep apm applet). Blank square
appeared on panel, and applet appeared in separate window on desktop. I though, that's wierd,
so I clicked X to close asapm program and entire panel shutdown. Asked me if I wanted to
start a new panel, even though one was running. I chose "no" and now no panel. How do I get
the panel back up and running? Do I have to restart gnome? I've kind of done this before,
and restarting gnome didn't bring up the panel. (I don't want to restart just yet b/c d/l
large files at the moment).
